FIFE SCRATCH FIVES – RULES – 2019
TEAMS
5 Players per team
Players do not have to be
members of Fife County Ladies Golfing Association
Players should nominate at
the start of the Season which Club they are going to play for, as players can
only play for one Club.
Encourage Junior Girls to
play.
Clubs with 2 Teams – a player
who plays twice for Team1 cannot play
for Team2 again in the same season.
MATCHES
The Home Club should contact the other Club by the
“Contact by” date.
3 dates should be given, but not
all in a “One Week Period” and they must include weekday and weekend dates.
Time for Play to be any time
on a Saturday or Sunday but must be 5pm and after on a weekday.
Representatives should make
contact as early as possible in the “Contact Period”.
A failure to respond within
the recognised time - by 1 week of
receiving the offer of dates -will result in the Home Club choosing the date
from those dates offered.
The Dates in the table are
only a guideline – clubs can play earlier than the dates suggested esp. with
regard to the last series when there may be problems with daylight.
Matches must be played by the
stipulated date. No extensions will be
given.
Clubs must field at least three players rather than concede a whole
Match. Concessions should only be made
if absolutely necessary.
Matches must be played unless
a Course is closed or the Rules of Golf prevent play being possible. Specific cases being e.g. Greens Flooding;
Wind Moving Balls on Greens; Thunder & Lightning.
If Play has to be abandoned
and all Games are through 9 Holes the current scores will stand - “Result =
Match Score and games score at Abandonment”.
If Play has to be abandoned
and all games are not through 9 holes the Match should be re-arranged a.s.a.p.
and by the final date of the scheduled Matches.
If it is thought that there
may be a problem with darkness preventing play from being completed the Team
Captains have the power to agree on the number of holes to be played – this to
be decided prior to Tee-Off.
When a match is all-square
after 18 holes, it will be considered a half match.
All games are played off
Scratch.
Players must play in order of
Playing Handicap with the lowest going off first.
Teams have the discretion to
change the Order of Play but within the booked times.
If it is known before the
exchange of team cards that a player will be missing, the remaining players
should be entered on the card in handicap order and the last game(s) conceded.
Catering,
recognised as a courtesy, is left to the discretion of Individual Clubs, but
when travelling and Evening Matches are involved it is proposed that something
like Soup and Sandwiches should be provided.
RESULTS
Any conceded game will be considered to
have been won 5/4.
For
each Individual Game a win = 1 pt; a
halved game = 1/2 pt; and a loss = 0 pts
For
each Match there are 2pts for a Win; 1 pt for a Halved Match and 0pts for a loss.
At
the end of the season, if two clubs within the same Division have the same
number of points, then the Team with the most Games won will win. In the event of a further tie the Team with
the most “Holes Up” will win.
Both
Teams should forward the Results to Aileen Penny (dennis.aileen@blueyonder.co.uk
)
as
soon as possible after each Match.
All
results should include the FULL NAMES of
team members.
Results
will be displayed on http://fifescratachfives.blogspot.co.uk/p/home.html
throughout
the season.
